Just an update

Just letting our knitters know that I have started the Bed Jacket (the short version) by Jennie Atkinson. Currently I am at the "Divide for fronts and back." I had 1400 yards of Farmhouse Yarns Silk Spun Cotton in Butter laying about and decided "What the hell!"

However, we are in the process of transferring from Keokuk, Iowa to Savannah, Georgia, but hopefully by the time we get settled and back on the net, my Bed Jacket should be complete! It's turning out to be a quick knit, actually, very easy to understand but not mind numbing. I hope this will inspire our readers to give it or the Dressing Gown a try.

Finished Lace Shawl

I've finished the Lace Shawl at last. Instead of using the Rowan Kidsilk Haze, I used 4 skeins of Esslinger Wolla Angora Princess (80% angora bunny, 20% lambswool; 103yds/20g) in #04 (a deep blue). And instead of 3mm beads, I used 4mm beads due to the yarn change. It turned out wonderfully, although blocked it is a little bit wider (instead of 15.5 inches it's 18 inches wide) but I'm not the least bit bothered by that. Anyway, this project was a great knit; easy enough for a lace beginner, but not mind numbing either. On to the photos! (There's a small mistake at the end, but it's nothing the cry over, and backing up such a hazy yarn is nearly impossible).
