Finally in...

I have joined in, finally. The last time I was going to do a Goggle account, something terribly went arie.

I picked up my copy of Romantic Style Dec. 20th, on a train trip to Oregon with my three kids and DD#1 boyfriend. Walking in downtown Portland on a cold 35 degree weather day was interesting, but the http://knit-purl.com/ shop was there, waiting, warm and toasty, with Romantic Style in stock.

I haven't really decided what to make yet. So many choices. Lacey socks or the hangers, but I do like the crocheted hat. Will ponder some more.

Where to begin?

It arrived today. Wow. I've truly never met a book that had so many patterns I wanted to create! Such a beautiful collection! Though, I think I might start with the bed jacket or (if I'm feeling randy and there's $ burning a hole in me pocket), the dressing gown. That's what got me to buy the book! Anyone attempt this mammoth project before? I was wondering what yarn you used.

Awaiting the arrival!

I'm so glad that this KAL has been started. I'm currently waiting on the book to be shipped (hopefully it'll be here within the week!) so I can get started on one of the beautiful projects. I've got to admit that I've been knitting for a few years now, but have only recently began to join KAL and subsequently have missed out on a few of the past "knitting crazes" (butterfly dress being one of them). Can you believe I've never even seen the pattern? Can't wait to start :)

Sock One Done

I'd like to begin with a thank you to all of the Craftster knitters that have wandered over here for a peek. Thanks for reading AND joining.

Back to business, I've finished sock one of the Lacy Bed Socks. I am quite pleased and anticipate completing sock two. For those interested in knitting these beauties, it is very much an enjoyable project.

As for technical information about the LBS, I am using Sirdar's Snuggly DK Yarn in Flamenco (something just lying in my stash and it's a gift anyway... I save my natural yarns for myself). Looks like I will be using three skeins with some to spare. Anyway, I ended up with 27 pattern repeats for the 12 inch leg of the sock. So you can expect to be somewhere in the 26 to 32 repeat range depending on the yarn.

I can't wait to see what the rest of you will be whipping up soon. Good luck and happy holidays.
